GUA MUSANG: A 60-year-old man collapsed and died in his sampan after pulling his cow up a riverbank near the Kampung Limau Kasturi bridge here yesterday.
District police chief Superintendent Sik Choon Foo said several villagers saw the man, Mohamad Taibi Wook, pulling his cow to higher ground around 5pm.
“After he finished, villagers noticed the victim appearing weak as he returned to his boat.
“He then suddenly collapsed in the boat. Several villagers helped lift him onto the riverbank and took him to the Jeram Tekoh Health Clinic for treatment,” he said, adding, however, that Taibi had died.
“According to the victim’s wife, he had suffered from blocked heart arteries since 2021,” Sik said.
Kelantan continues to record the highest number of flood evacuees, with over 11,000 people from 4,188 families, displaced as of yesterday.
