KUCHING: Following its successful staging at Dataran Perayaan in Petra Jaya last year, Karnival Jom Heboh (KJH) Segulai Sejalai returns to the same venue from today until Sunday.
Taking advantage of the Maulidur Rasul public holiday, visitors began arriving at the KJH site as early as 8am despite the cloudy weather.
Families came to soak in the festive atmosphere of the carnival, which is being held for the third time in Sarawak, the first being in 2013 and again last year.
KJH Segulai Sejalai Sarawak 2025 offers various attractions, including a two-night Jom Heboh Concert and family-oriented activities such as karaoke competitions, stage games and meet-and-greet sessions with TV3 drama stars and Media Prima Bhd personalities.
The first night will feature a knowledge-sharing session, “Sembang Santai”, in conjunction with Maulidur Rasul, beginning at 9pm at the main stage.
The casual talk will present light but meaningful sharing of moral values, exemplary stories and lessons from the life of Prophet Muhammad.
The session not only provides an opportunity to reconnect with the history of the Prophet but also serves as a platform for interaction in a relaxed, friendly and easy-to-understand manner for all ages.
KJH Segulai Sejalai 2025 is organised in strategic collaboration with the Sarawak Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Ministry.
It also offers the public a chance to engage closely with various agencies under its umbrella, including the Museums Department, Sarawak Tourism Board, Sarawak Arts Council, BeSarawak, Sarawak Craft Council and the Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Ministry.
All participating agencies will be organising a variety of exciting activities for visitors.
For e-sports enthusiasts, there is the New Straits Times Press Car Sim Experience, which offers an adrenaline-pumping driving simulation.
Visitors can test their driving skills in a realistic setting, as if they were on an actual racing circuit.
