JomCharge Kuchai Lama Mix Store: Get 50% discount on charging fee

JomCharge will officially launch its new EV charging spot at the Kuchai Entrepreneur Park this Saturday, 13 September. To mark the occasion, EV owners will be able to enjoy a 50% discount on the charging fee when they charge their vehicles at the new location on the opening day.

Located in front of a Mix Store, JomCharge Kuchai Lama is the second JomCharge x DBKL roadside charging spot to go live after JomCharge Nasi Lemak Burung Hantu TTDI. The setup at the new location is rather interesting because it has only 2 charging bays, even though the chargers that have been installed there can technically cater to 3 EVs at the same time.

Specifically,  it has a DC charger with two nozzles and is currently set to run at 30kW. This means each EV will only get up to 15kW if there are two EVs using the DC charger at the same time.

On the other hand, there is also an 11kW AC charger next to the DC charger. EVs with a three-phase AC charging module should have no problem taking full advantage of the AC charger, but EVs with a single-phase AC charging module will see their charging speed max out at 3.5kW.

Hence, it seems that users should just forego the AC charger. That being said, the AC charger still has an advantage in terms of pricing since it has a lower charging fee of RM1.10 per kWh as opposed to the DC charger, which costs RM1.40 per kWh.

Of course, you can further reduce the charging fee by subscribing to the JomCharge Elite plan. If you already have the plan, you will get an additional 10% discount on the charging fee during the opening of JomCharge Kuchai Lama tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the JomCharge Kuchai Lama EV chargers are also accessible through Gentari Go and ChargEV mobile apps. Alternatively, you can also activate the chargers using the on-site payment card terminal.
