Johor PN unity intact, leaders urge Amanah to 'mind its own house'

JOHOR BARU: and Bersatu have jointly dismissed claims by Amanah Johor that a power struggle is brewing between the two Perikatan Nasional (PN) component parties in the state.

In a joint statement, the Johor Youth wings of both parties – Dewan Pemuda and Armada Bersatu – described the allegation as a “desperate attempt” to fracture PN’s growing support base in Johor.

They said ties between Johor and Bersatu Johor remain “solid and sincere”, grounded in mutual cooperation and a shared struggle under the PN banner.

“The claim of a rift is baseless. We reject Amanah’s attempt to create political fiction to mask its own internal turmoil,” the statement read.

PAS Youth chief Ridhwan Salamun and Bersatu Youth chief Alias Rasman, who signed the joint statement, stressed that PN Johor continues to operate in unity and coordination across its component parties.

The statement accused Amanah of seeking political lifelines through its partnership with Barisan Nasional () over seat negotiations and urged it to “stop seeking relevance through slander”.

“Amanah Johor should mind its own house before meddling in others’ affairs. Before throwing stones, it should first tidy up its own home,” it added.

The youth wings reaffirmed that PN Johor would remain focused on serving as a “principled, effective and responsible” opposition bloc in the state.

Yesterday, Amanah Johor alleged that internal friction had emerged between Pas and Bersatu over seat allocations and influence within PN ahead of the next general election.

Amanah leaders claimed the supposed discord reflected instability within the opposition coalition in Johor.

However, PN Johor leaders have repeatedly dismissed such claims, insisting that cooperation between component parties remains strong, particularly at the grassroots level.
