PETALING JAYA:

Johor has finalised its line-up for the 2025-2028 term, including the reappointment of its deputy chairman, Md Ysahruddin Kusni, and the selection of three vice-chairmen.

Johor chairman Dr Zaliha Mustafa said the appointments were finalised at the chapter’s first meeting for the new term, attended by 26 division chiefs, six MPs and an assemblyman, as well as the heads and deputy heads of the youth and women’s wings.

She said the meeting confirmed several key positions, including the reappointment of Ysahruddin as her deputy. Ysahruddin is the Bakri division chief and former Bukit Naning assemblyman.

The trio appointed as vice-chairmen are Malik, the Simpang Renggam division chief and former education minister; Jimmy Puah, MP for Tebrau and former Johor exco member; and Shamala Vasudevan, the Segamat division chief.

Mohd Khuzzan Abu Bakar, Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad’s deputy chairman, was appointed secretary, and Mersing division chief Khairil Adanan will lead the PKR state election committee.

“This team brings a wide range of experience, professionalism, and gender diversity, which will help guide Johor PKR forward,” Bernama quoted Zaliha as saying in a statement today.

She said the chapter was fully committed to facing political challenges “through a strategically crafted approach centred on reform”.

The party will also seek to reinforce its collaboration with Pakatan Harapan component parties to ensure political stability and advance the federal government’s agenda in Johor.

“With strong teamwork and unity, Johor PKR will play a key role in strengthening the party’s position and driving Johor towards a more progressive future,” she said.
