JOHOR BARU: The Johor Health Department is working with Pos Malaysia to review and expand the free medicine delivery service.

State health and environment committee chairman Ling Tian Soon said the number of patients using the service has risen from 6,000 to 20,000 since the service was launched in 2024.

“The Health Department is now working with Pos Malaysia to review and further expand the service, including the possibility of delivering temperature-sensitive medicines.

“The service has been well received as patients no longer need to travel to hospitals or clinics, worry about transport or spend long hours at counters,” he said in a statement posted on his Facebook page Sunday (Sept 14).

Ling said the state government has allocated RM1.9mil so far to sustain the initiative.

“Helping 20,000 patients each month avoid hospital or clinic visits not only eases their burden but also reduces congestion at health facilities and contributes to easing traffic,” he added. – Bernama
