KUALA LUMPUR: Jelutong Member of Parliament R.S.N. Rayer today called on the opposition to stop portraying the Madani government as uncaring towards the Indian community.
“Regarding SJK(T) Ladang Jeram, certain quarters, especially the opposition, have never discussed this matter. Yet outside Parliament, they act as if this government does not care about the Indian community.
“In the previous parliamentary session, the minister made a clear commitment that this issue would be addressed for the sake of the estate workers and the students there. This will soon be realised, proving that this government not only talks but gets things done.
“However, Pagoh (Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin) claimed that they are ready to govern Putrajaya. Everyone should know the truth. Please, Pagoh, do not deceive the Indian community.
“I admit I am a little emotional, because the opposition constantly plays the narrative that this government does not care about Indians.
“Let me make it clear: this government is for all Malaysians, and the Indian community will continue to be looked after,” he said.
Rayer made these remarks while interjecting during Digital Communications Minister Gobind Singh Deo’s winding-up speech on the 2026 Budget for his ministry.
It was previously reported that SJK(T) Ladang Jeram in Kuantan will soon have new school buildings, following Cabinet approval for fresh funding on Aug 1.
