The UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon (Unifil) today condemned Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon, calling them violations of Security Council Resolution 1701 and warning that they put regional stability at risk, Anadolu Ajansi reported.
“Last night’s strikes by Israel in southern Lebanon are violations of Security Council Resolution 1701 and put at risk the fragile stability that has been built since November last year,” a Unifil statement read, adding “They further undermine civilians’ confidence that a non-violent solution to this conflict is possible.”
