PETALING JAYA:

Former prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has filed reports with the police and Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) over a Facebook page linking him to the attack on Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli’s son.

Ismail’s aide had filed a report at the Dang Wangi police headquarters on Aug 18 over two defamatory articles implicating him in the incident and a scandal involving a private company.

“A report has also been filed with MCMC and Facebook so that immediate action can be taken against the page and its administrator or owner,” the former vice-president said in a statement.

The Bera MP maintained that the contents of the postings were completely untrue and maliciously intended to damage his reputation and good name.

Earlier today, Rafizi denied claims linking Ismail and former health minister Khairy Jamaluddin to the attack on his son at a shopping mall in .

The former economy minister said there were allegations that information was leaked a week before about a money laundering case supposedly involving Ismail, as well as projects linked to Khairy during his time in the health ministry.
