Homegrown managed cloud provider IP ServerOne is expanding its services to Sarawak with the introduction of GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) and cloud solutions. The move reinforces its role in Malaysia’s digital transformation while supporting Sarawak’s ambitions to become a digitally driven, high-income state.
The company is deploying its cloud and GPUaaS services in irix Kuching 1 DC @ Santubong, Sarawak’s only Tier-IV data centre.
IP ServerOne CEO Lee Cheung Loong said, “We’re not outsiders. We’re here as partners — Malaysians supporting Malaysians. Sarawak has incredible potential, and we’re excited to contribute by offering tools that support its digital journey. We believe that by sharing what we’ve built — our technology, our experience, our infrastructure — we can play a small but meaningful role in shaping a more connected, resilient, and empowered Malaysia.”
Deployment at irix Kuching 1 DC @ Santubong to ensure data sovereignty
With its deployment at irix Kuching 1 DC @ Santubong, IP ServerOne wants to ensure maximum uptime, security and reliability. Besides supporting the growth of local SMEs, critical government services and enabling AI in various sectors, it aims to deliver:
- Data sovereignty – ensuring sensitive data remains within Sarawak.
- Low latency – for faster and more responsive services.
- Cost-effective scalability – with pay-per-use models to eliminate high upfront investments.
The offering aligns with the Sarawak Digital Blueprint, which calls for secure and sovereign digital capabilities.

IP ServerOne highlighted several ways GPUaaS and cloud services can support local industries:
- Plantations – AI can process drone and satellite imagery to detect pests or diseases earlier, boosting yields.
- Oil & Gas – Predictive maintenance with real-time sensor data helps anticipate equipment failures, reducing downtime and improving safety.
- Healthcare – AI-driven image analysis supports quicker and more accurate diagnosis of MRIs and CT scans, while keeping health data within Sarawak.
- SMEs – cloud hosting for applications such as accounting, CRM/ERP systems, or e-commerce platforms reduces IT overhead.
Lee added, “Digital transformation shouldn’t feel like a luxury. By offering affordable, scalable infrastructure, we’re helping local businesses – big and small – get the tools they need to grow.”
Nurturing cloud computing and AI talent in Sarawak
IP ServerOne’s entry into Sarawak is made possible through close collaboration with local partners such as irix to ensure that the solutions are built with local community in mind while ensuring opportunities created remain within the state. Beyond infrastructure, the company is also focusing on nurturing local talent by creating opportunities for Sarawakian students and fresh graduates to gain hands-on experience in cloud computing and AI.
IP ServerOne is participating at the upcoming International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak (IDECS2025) which is happening in October.
Lee says they are in Sarawak for the long run and together, they can build a Sarawak that is digitally sovereign, secure and future-ready.
