KOTA KINABALU: Coroner Amir Shah Amir Hassan has arrived at the Coroner’s Court here to preside over the inquest into the death of Zara Qairina Mahathir.
The courtroom initially limited attendance on the first day of the 17-day hearing.
However, with additional space made available, 14 media personnel were allowed to cover the proceedings.
Lawyers representing Zara’s family, the five alleged child offenders and the Sabah Law Society were also present.
The media did not see Zara’s parents at the court complex this morning.
As of 10am, the surroundings of the Kota Kinabalu Court Complex remained under control, with General Operations Force personnel on standby.
