KUALA LUMPUR: Police have opened an investigation paper against a male influencer caught on video uttering obscene words while eating at a restaurant in Bukit Bintang.
City police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said a report was lodged by a Russian woman at the Dang Wangi police station yesterday.
He said the report was made in connection with a TikTok video that humiliated the victim by using vulgar language.
“The case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.”
Yesterday, “Harian Metro” reported that Russian model Alisa Kasimova, 26, lodged a report after she was subjected to obscene remarks by an influencer while dining at a restaurant in Bukit Bintang.
Alisa said she decided to take action after receiving advice and concern from people around her who feared for her safety.
“I did not do it out of anger, but because staying silent would only protect those who hurt others.”
