PETALING JAYA:
National women’ singles shuttler K Letshanaa made an impressive debut at the World Championships in Paris with an easy win in the opening round.
The world No 40 took just 31 minutes to beat Hong Kong’s 77th ranked player Saloni Mehta 21-18, 21-8 to move into the second round.
This is Letshanaa’s third straight win over Saloni in as many encounters.
However, a tough encounter awaits the 22-year-old in the next round as she will be meeting India’s PV Sindhu.
Sindhu is the 2019 world champion.
