IJM confirms submitting proposal for PNB's highway assets

KUALA LUMPUR: IJM Corporation Bhd has confirmed that it has submitted a proposal to acquire Permodalan Nasional Bhd’s (PNB) highway assets.

Group chief executive officer and managing director Datuk Lee Chun Fai said the company was invited to participate in the request for proposal (RFP).

“We were invited and we participated in the RFP, but there’s no decision yet. I think they are doing the evaluation at the moment,” he told reporters after the group’s annual general meeting today.

Lee, however, declined to provide further details.

PNB is reportedly exploring the disposal of its toll road portfolio under Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd (Prolintas), which owns the Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE) and the Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Expressway (DASH), as well as a 51 per cent stake in Prolintas Infra Business Trust.

In July, media reports said IJM and AFA Prime Bhd were among the parties interested in PNB’s highway assets.
