Identities of four killed in Jalan Muar–Segamat crash confirmed


TANGKAK: The identities of four people, including an 18-year-old female student, who died in a four-vehicle crash on Km32.5 Jalan Muar-Segamat near Bandar Baru Sagil last night have been confirmed.

The victims were Alauddin Shah Zulkarnain, 20; Muhammad Darwish Kamarul Hafiz, 19; Sky Chang Ji Shiang, 20; and Pang Choug Chong, 18.

Three of the victims, Alauddin Shah, Ji Shiang, and Choug Chong, were confirmed dead at the scene, while Darwish died while receiving treatment at Tangkak Hospital.

Alauddin Shah and Darwish were colleagues working part-time at a barber shop in Tangkak. Darwish was also a second-semester student of the certificate in refrigeration and air conditioning technology at Ledang Community College.

All the deceased were either motorcyclists or pillion riders.

Separately, Tangkak district police chief, Superintendent Roslan Mohd Talib, said the police received a report about the fatal accident at 10.55pm.

“An investigation is being carried out to identify the cause of the accident,” he said.
