Huawei Launches Nova 14 Series In China; Features Ultra Model

Following teasers and some leaks, Huawei has officially launched its Nova 14 smartphone series in . As hinted earlier, the series stars the Ultra variant, with the base and Pro model also getting unveiled.

Starting with the basics, a machine translation of the brand’s website states that the vanilla model within the Huawei Nova 14 series has a 6.7-inch OLED screen, with a 120Hz refresh rate. It packs a 5,500mAh typical capacity battery, with support for 100W wired charging.

On its back is a triple camera setup, namely a 50MP main camera, a 12MP telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle. Its front shooter is a 50MP unit. It comes with an IP65 rating. The Huawei Nova 14 is available in two storage options: 256GB and 512GB, and three colours: White, Blue, and Black.

Moving on, the Huawei Nova 14 Pro comes with a 6.78-inch OLED screen, with a 120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate. In addition to the 50MP front-facing camera, it gets an additional 8MP unit with 5x zoom, though it’s not specified if it is purely optical zoom.

Beyond that, it shares a lot with the base model, sporting the familiar 5,500 mAh battery with 100W charging, as well as the 50MP main + 12MP telephoto + 8MP ultra-wide combo, as well as the IP65 rating. Options are either 256GB or 512GB of storage, and in four colours: White, Blue, Black, and Pink.

Lastly, the Ultra variant within the Huawei Nova 14 lineup. This phone has a 6.81-inch OLED screen, with a 120Hz LTPO refresh rate. Powering it is a familiar 5,500mAh typical capacity battery with 100W wired charging support.

The Huawei Nova 14 Ultra has a quadruple camera setup at its back. These are its 50MP main camera, 50MP telephoto lens, 13MP ultra-wide-angle, and 1.5MP multi-spectral colour lens. On its front is a 50MP shooter with an 8MP 5x lens. The phone comes with an IP68 and 69 rating and three storage versions: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. It is available in four colours: White, Purple, Black, and Gold.

All of the phones in the Huawei Nova 14 series support dual SIM, have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and run on Harmony OS 5.0. Its pricing starts at RMB2,699 (~RM1,604) and goes up to RMB4,999 (~RM2,971) depending on the storage choice. As of now, no confirmations have been made regarding a global release.
