KUCHING, Oct 28 — Police arrested a 26-year-old man at Jalan Lubok Antu yesterday after he was found in possession of a homemade shotgun and several rounds of ammunition.
The Lubok Antu District Police Headquarters said in a Facebook post that a district task force team led by Insp Muhammad Firdaus Saldi made the arrest.
“Further checks revealed that the suspect, who has a prior criminal record, was also found positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine use,” said the police.
The case is being investigated under Section 8(a) of the Arms Act 1960 and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
The suspect is also being detained in connection with a case of voluntarily causing hurt to a woman on October 25, which is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code.
