Home Ministry, police offer 50 per cent discount on traffic summonses for National Day, Malaysia Day

KUALA LUMPUR: The Home Ministry and the police are offering a 50 per cent discount on traffic summonses for 17 days, from Aug 31 to Sept 16.

The Home Ministry announced that the offer is valid only for payments made through the PDRM MyBayar application, using the MyDigital ID login, in conjunction with the 68th National Day and the 62nd Malaysia Day celebrations.

All citizens are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to settle their outstanding traffic summonses.

“This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to strengthen the nation’s digital services while appreciating the public by providing a simpler, faster, and safer way to pay traffic fines,” the ministry stated.

It also highlighted that MyDigital ID, as a legitimate and secure digital identity verification method, ensures more secure access, reducing the risk of identity fraud and the misuse of personal information.

“Through this initiative, the government, through the ministry and the police, reaffirms its commitment to prioritising the well-being of the people while advancing the national digitalisation agenda, in line with the spirit of independence and Malaysia’s progress,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said that in conjunction with National Day and Malaysia Day, the government aims to not only celebrate the nation’s achievements but also to deliver direct benefits to the public.

“This summons reduction offer symbolises the government’s appreciation of Malaysians, while encouraging the use of the national digital identity as a foundation for the digital transformation of public services.

“I urge all Malaysians to seize this opportunity and support the government’s efforts towards more efficient, transparent, and modern services,” he said.
