Home Minister to seek clarification on Indira Gandhi's new claims

: The Home Ministry will ensure that the police take all necessary measures following new claims made by M. Indira Gandhi regarding her ex-husband, Riduan Abdullah.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said he has not yet been briefed on the matter but would seek clarification from the police before making any further comments.

“I will continue to ensure that the police take the necessary actions.

“At this point, I have not yet been briefed on the matter, and I will request the police to prepare the necessary information to address the matter,” he said at the 2025 World Day Against Trafficking in Persons celebrations today.

On Oct 28, Indira once again questioned the police’s honesty in locating her missing daughter after her ex-husband’s name surfaced in connection with the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (Sara) RM100 and Budi95 government aid programmes.

The 50-year-old Indira, from Ipoh, said she has lost faith in the police after learning that Riduan is still believed to be in Malaysia, contrary to the long-standing claim by the authorities that K. Pathmanathan, now known as Muhammad Riduan Abdullah, had fled to Thailand.

Indira had said she was shocked to discover an online news report that revealed that her ex-husband’s name appeared in connection with the use of the government aid programmes. Both benefits are only available to residents in Malaysia.

Her ex-husband was accused of abducting Prasana 17 years ago, when she was an 11-month-old baby.
