KUALA LUMPUR: Hafizuddin Mat Daud has made the nation proud after clinching a men’s singles bronze medal at the Petanque World Championships in Rome last week.

The podium finish marked a breakthrough moment for Malaysia in the sport, with Hafizuddin showing skill, grit and composure against some of the world’s best.

Malaysian Boules Sports Federation (MBSF) acting president Cheah Ban Cheng hailed the achievement as a milestone.

“This is a historic milestone for Malaysian petanque. Hafizuddin’s success is a testament to the dedication of our athletes and coaches. We believe this victory will inspire the entire team ahead of the Thailand SEA Games in December,” he said.

The petanque competition at the SEA Games will be held in Songkla from December 10-15.
