Heavy rainfall forces temporary closure of Niah’s Bukit Kasut trails

MIRI, Sept 12 — The highly popular Bukit Kasut trails at Niah National Park have temporarily closed to the public due to heavy rainfall.

Sarawak Forestry Corporation’s (SFC) National Parks and Nature Reserves controller announced this in a Facebook post.

“Due to recent heavy rainfall and for the safety of all visitors, Bukit Kasut trails at Niah National Park are temporarily closed, effective immediately,” said the post.

Having one of the best views at the national park, the trails cover 10.2km with a 592-metre elevation gain with many species of flora and fauna.
