MOH bans ASGG Gluta Genc Glow Gummies for containing prohibited glutathione, with sellers facing fines up to RM100,000 or 10 years imprisonment
PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Health has banned the sale and advertisement of ASGG Gluta Genc Glow Gummies for containing the prohibited substance glutathione.
MOH confirmed the product violates the Food Act 1983 as glutathione is not permitted as a food ingredient under Malaysian regulations.
The product was found being marketed on major e-commerce platforms including Shopee, Lazada and TikTok.
As of November 10, authorities have submitted 121 advertising restriction requests to platform providers regarding the product.
Offenders face fines up to RM100,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 10 years under Section 13B(2)(d) of the Food Act 1983.
MOH has instructed all sellers to immediately stop sales and contact their nearest District Health Office for product seizure.
All advertising media including e-commerce platforms and social media must cease publishing advertisements for the banned product.
Consumers currently using the product are advised to stop immediately and seek medical advice.
The ministry reminded the public to exercise caution when purchasing food products that may contain prohibited substances. – Bernama
