KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 18 (Bernama) — The Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MGCC) has appointed Hannes Farlock as executive director effective Sept 15, 2025.
In a statement today, the chamber said Farlock brings more than 15 years of international leadership experience across Central and Eastern Europe as well as Greater China, with a proven track record in market entry, business development and organisational strategy.
“He takes over from Jan Noether, who helmed MGCC from May 2024 until July 2025.
“Before MGCC, Farlock served as delegate and chief representative of the German Industry and Commerce in Hong Kong,” it said.
Prior to that, he spent over six years in Moscow at the German-Russian Chamber of Commerce, where he held roles which included managing director and head of market entry and business development, guiding companies through regulatory and market landscapes.
Farlock held business development and client service positions as well as project management roles in Berlin earlier in his career.
He has a degree in Business Administration and Management from FH Kufstein Tirol – University of Applied Sciences and a Master’s in Russian and Eurasian Studies from the European University at St. Petersburg.
More recently, he also earned an Oxford Executive Diploma in Organisational Leadership from the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
