KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin has announced his resignation as Opposition Leader, effective Jan 1, 2026, following decisions made by the top leadership of Perikatan Nasional (PN).
In a statement, Hamzah said the move came in the wake of the resignation of PN Chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, and in consideration of the current political realities and needs.
“This decision was made after thorough deliberation, to ensure continuity of leadership and stability within PN as it aligns with the new direction under the chairman to be appointed,” he added.
