Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) will announce its candidates for the 17th Sabah state election on Nov 12, three days before nomination day.
GRS chairman Hajiji Noor acknowledged that this would already be “late” compared with other parties that plan to announce their candidates this weekend.
“We have already distributed the seats. If others want to announce theirs, they can go ahead. We’ll make our announcement late, on Nov 12,” he said in a statement.
Hajiji, the chief minister, expressed confidence that GRS would regain its mandate to govern the state, saying the coalition would field winnable candidates to ensure success.
“We are only fielding candidates who can win… We are confident of victory in this election,” said the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah president.
GRS is working with Pakatan Harapan in the state polls.
DAP will unveil its candidates for the election on Saturday while PKR will do the same the following day. Upko has yet to set a date while Amanah has already announced its sole candidate.
