KOTA KINABALU: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) assemblymen are still firmly behind Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, says one of them.
This is despite a growing uneasiness among GRS assemblymen after Barisan Nasional was included in the state government.
At least a dozen of its assemblymen were seen meeting at a hotel’s coffee house while several others openly posted objections to Barisan on social media.
When met at a hotel here, GRS’s Klias assemblyman, Datuk Isnin Aliasnih, who was also seen in the circulated image, said everything could be talked over.
“We firmly back the Chief Minister (Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor). Even the independents are with us.
“There is no move developing. There were just discussions about Barisan being part of the state government, but it’s just a small matter which can be resolved.
“The situation is under control,” he added.
On social media, Pantai Dalit assemblyman Datuk Jasnih Daya said, “Out of honour for my family and supporters, no Barisan”.
The screenshot of a message reportedly showing Tempasuk assemblyman Arsad Bistari stating readiness to oppose Barisan being part of the government has also been circulating.
Other social media posts from public groups had the message “the whole of Sabah has been lied to”.
Earlier Monday, the Sabah Cabinet, comprising GRS, Upko, Pakatan Harapan and Barisan, was sworn in.
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam also confirmed that Barisan will be part of the state government.
