Govt allocates RM50mil for non-muslim houses of worship in Budget 2026


PETALING JAYA: The government has allocated RM50mil under Budget 2026 for the repair and maintenance of registered non-Muslim houses of worship nationwide, including in Sabah and Sarawak, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ibrahim.

He said the allocation reflects the government’s commitment to supporting Malaysia’s multi-religious society and ensuring that places of worship remain well-maintained.

To optimise land use in high-density areas, the government would also introduce the Vertical School model. This model combines schools and residential units within a single building to better use urban space.

The model would be implemented through three pilot projects: Kota Madani Precinct 19 in , Rumah Bakat Madani SkyWorld Pearlmont in Seberang Perai, Penang and Residensi Aman Madani in Bandar Sri Permaisuri, Kuala Lumpur.
