Google has announced that its next-gen flagship smartphones, the Google Pixel 10 series, are set to debut on the 20th of August, 2025. Looking at teasers published on the official Google Store website, countries that will see the Pixel 10 announced on this date include the US and UK, while markets such as Australia, India, and Singapore are set to see the phones launched the day after.

What about Malaysia?

At the time of writing, no Google Pixel 10-related teasers have been published on the Malaysian Google Store site. But a post made by Google Pixel authorised reseller Urban Republic states that the Pixel 10 is launching on the 21st of August. Could this mean we will be receiving the Pixel 10 on the same day as Australia, India, and Singapore?
Google Pixel 10 series to sport TSMC-powered 3nm Tensor G5 chip
Despite the Pixel 10 launch still being more than two weeks away, nearly every detail about the smartphone series has already leaked online. And these leaks have been trickling out since late last year, just weeks after the Pixel 9 came fresh out of the oven.
One major upgrade we can see on the Pixel 10 family is the Tensor G5 chip. To be the first chipset designed by Google in-house, the Tensor G5 is said to be built on TSMC’s 3nm process.
Last year’s Tensor G4 was essentially a semi-custom design based on Samsung’s Exynos 2400, and was a little underwhelming when compared against chipsets used by other similarly priced smartphones. Hopefully, this new processor will help boost the Pixel 10 to be on par with its Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered competitors in terms of performance.
Same same but different?

If you’re expecting to see some design changes on the Google Pixel 10 series over the Pixel 9, we’re sorry to report that you might be disappointed. Looking at renders published by the likes of Android Headlines and OnLeaks, as well as Evan Blass, the Pixel 10 family, which is expected to include the base Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold, will look pretty much identical to the Pixel 9 that we’re already familiar with.
Android Headlines even put out alleged dimensions of the Pixel 10 series. The candybar Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro series are most likely to sport identical measurements as the Pixel 9 series, except for thickness, which is expected to be reduced by 0.1mm across the range, as well as weight gains of up to 11g.

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold, on the other hand, is said to be fitted with a new hinge and is expected to be slightly wider when unfolded but narrower when folded. Could this be suggesting a slightly taller aspect ratio for the cover screen?
But what about its thickness? After all, this is what many manufacturers like Oppo, Honor, and Samsung are racing towards — making their foldables as thin as possible. But in the case of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, this might be an odd one, as the phone is reported to be thicker by up to 0.3mm than its predecessor when folded. But do take this with a grain of salt, as these are merely rumoured figures.
New year, new colours!

One of the major design changes we can expect to see on the Google Pixel 10 series, though, is the colour options. Here’s the list, courtesy of Android Headlines:
- Pixel 10:
- Obsidian (Black)
- Frost (Frost)
- Lemongrass (Lime)
- Indigo (Purple-ish blue)
- Pixel 10 Pro / Pro XL:
- Obsidian
- Porcelain (Cream)
- Moonstone (Blue-ish grey)
- Jade (Green)
- Pixel 10 Pro Fold:
Vanilla model to finally gain a telephoto shooter

Another substantial change that’s rumoured to be made to the Google Pixel 10 family is the addition of a third camera on the vanilla flagship Pixel device — a first for Google. Specifically, the base Pixel 10 is expected to gain a new telephoto, resulting in a tri-camera setup, together with a selfie shooter:
- 50MP main camera
- 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera
- 11MP telephoto camera
- 11MP front camera
As for the Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL, this is what you can expect to see:
- 50MP main camera
- 48MP ultra-wide-angle camera
- 48MP telephoto camera
- 48MP front camera
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold, on the other hand, is expected to sport these shooters:
- 50MP main camera
- 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera
- 12MP telephoto camera
- Dual 11MP front camera
What about the other features?

One of the render images shows the Google Pixel 10 series sporting an iPhone MagSafe-like charger on its back. Could this mean the devices will come with Qi 2 and maybe even Qi 2.2 wireless charging support? An Android Authority report even stated that Google might be launching a new series of Qi 2.2 accessories called PixelSnap, similar to Apple‘s MagSafe branding.
Also expected to debut with the Pixel 10 is a new Pixel-exclusive AI feature called Pixel Sense. This feature is said to draw data from multiple Google apps, such as Gmail, Calendar, Maps, Messages, Photos, and Files, process the media, screenshots, and metadata, to provide users with helpful suggestions.

In addition to the Pixel 10 smartphones, Google is also anticipated to launch the Pixel 4 smartwatch and its new mid-range wireless earbuds, the Pixel Buds 2a.
