KAJANG: Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISB) Sdn Bhd chairman and chief executive officer Datuk Nasiruddin Mohd Ali and 21 others are seeking a reduction in their charges of being members of an organised crime group.

Their lawyer, Datuk Rosli Kamaruddin, said the Attorney-General’s Chambers (A-GC) was still reviewing a representation submitted in May.

“We hope the A-GC will consider amending the charges to another section that carries a lighter sentence.

“If the A-GC rejects the representation, the case will proceed to trial as set from Nov 17 to 21,” he said after proceedings today.

Earlier, Shah Alam High Court Datuk Seri Latifah Mohd Tahar, who presided over the proceedings at Kajang Prison Court Complex, fixed Oct 30 for the A-GC to deliver its decision.

During proceedings, the prosecution, led by deputy public prosecutor Norinna Bahadun, informed the court that more time was needed to review the representation.

The others in the prosecution were Syafiq Hasim and Mohammad Fakhrurrazi Ahmad Salim.

In February, 66-year-old Nasiruddin, his wife, Azura Md Yusof, 58, along with 20 others claimed trial before Latifah to charges of being members of an organised criminal group.
