KUALA LUMPUR: Kuching City striker Jordan Mintah has become a Malaysian citizen after completing his naturalisation process.

This makes the 29-year-old Ghanaian-born footballer eligible to be registered as a local player in domestic competitions.

Super League club Kuching confirmed this in their official Facebook page today.

“Jordan Mintah is now one of us, rakyat Malaysia! The naturalisation process has been completed and Jordan is now eligible to be registered as a local player. A big step for him, and great news for all supporters. Congratulations, Jordan!” the club announced.

Mintah joined Terengganu in 2017 before going on loan to UiTM and then representing Terengganu FC II, KL City and now Kuching City.

Renowned for his pace and finishing, Mintah has scored over 60 goals in all Malaysian competitions, including a prolific spell with TFC II where he netted 30 goals in two seasons.

Mintah becomes the latest in a growing list of naturalised players in Malaysia, joining the likes of Mohamadou Sumareh, Liridon Krasniqi, Guilherme de Paula and Endrick dos Santos.
