KUALA LUMPUR: With both teams still deadlocked after the FA Cup semi-final first leg (2-2) on Nov 9 at Likas Stadium, Selangor interim coach Christophe Gamel is calling for mental toughness and consistency from his men for the return leg against Sabah at MBPJ Stadium tomorrow.
He feels that if the players can show these two qualities, Selangor will advance.
“We have to be mentally strong and have more consistency,” he said.
Gamel is also counting on Selangor‘s creative players to tilt the scales in high-stakes matches like the FA Cup semi-final.
“We have players with the ball who can give a lot to the team. They can help us find a good solution,” he said.
At the other end, Sabah forward Jafri Chew said his team are entering the semi-final with momentum after a 3-2 league victory over Penang last week.
The other semi-final will see Johor Darul Ta’zim take on Kuching City at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium with a 2-1 advantage from the first leg.
