PASIR MAS: After three years on the run, a man known as Aimay, linked to the murder of a seven-month pregnant woman, was finally apprehended by the General Operations Force (PGA) on Bukit Lata road here on Wednesday (July 23).
The suspect, Aimay, whose real name is Zulhakimy Aiman Suhairuddin, 24, was arrested at 7pm.
Pasir Mas District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Kama Azural Mohamed, said initial interrogation revealed that Aimay denied firing the shot at the woman.
“The suspect also denies involvement in the incident,” he told reporters on Thursday (July 24).
He added that further investigations will be conducted by the police once the remand period is obtained.
Kama Azural noted that during the raid, the PGA also detained another 24-year-old man.
“Body searches on both suspects found no illegal items. Urine tests showed both suspects tested positive for methamphetamine.
“Checks revealed that the suspect arrested with Aimay had a prior drug-related record,” he said.
An initial interrogation indicated that Aimay denied firing the shot at the woman.
Sinar Harian reported on June 9, 2022, that police were tracking a man who was also a witness to assist in the investigation of the pregnant mother’s murder in Kampung Repek, Pasir Mas.
According to Pasir Mas District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Nasaruddin M Nasir, the man known as Zulhakimy Aiman Suhairuddin, 21, or by his nickname Aimay, had his last known address in Kampung Pak Jak, Pasir Mas.
In the incident, a seven-month pregnant woman was shot in the stomach in Kampung Teresek, Repek.
The victim, Farrah Emirah Mazlan, 26, who was also a trader, was found lying in the driver’s seat with a gunshot wound to the left side of her stomach.
