KULAI, Sept 21 — A man was decapitated in a car crash in Taman Permata Impian along Jalan Felda Taib Andak here late last night.
In a Berita Harian (BH) report, the Johor Fire and Rescue Department was said to have received an emergency call at 10.36pm.
A spokesperson told BH that eight personnel and the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) unit were dispatched from the Kulai Fire and Rescue Station. The team arrived at the scene — about six kilometres away — at 10.43pm.
The operation was led by Senior Fire Officer II Mohd Firdaus Juritah.
“The accident involved a Honda City that crashed into a five-tonne Hino lorry parked by the roadside.
“The driver of the car, an adult male, sustained injuries and was pulled from the vehicle by members of the public before firefighters arrived.
“The front-seat passenger was trapped and pronounced dead at the scene. The victim suffered severe injuries, including decapitation,” the spokesperson stated.
Firefighters used specialised equipment to extricate the deceased from the vehicle.
