FRANKFURT, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) — The world’s largest book fair, the Frankfurt Book Fair, opened here on Tuesday with a focus on licensing and rights exchange.
More than 4,000 publishers from over 90 countries and regions are present at the 77th book fair and more than 200,000 visitors are expected, said Juergen Boos, director of the Fair, at the opening ceremony.
Chinese publishers are making a strong presence at the book fair, showcasing more than 5,000 titles and 6,500 copies, with foreign-language editions accounting for over one-third of the total.
The main joint booth shared by some Chinese publishers covers an area of 336 square meters where books are displayed in four different sections and rights trading talks can take place.
The English version of the fifth volume of “Xi Jinping: The Governance of China” is a highlight of promotion for Chinese publishers.
On the sidelines of the book fair, which runs through Sunday, up to 58 different events in forms of new book launch, signing of publishing rights, academic symposium and art exhibition will be jointly hosted by Chinese publishers and their foreign peers.
