Former Selangor Menteri Besar Khir Toyo joins Bersatu


KUALA LUMPUR: Former Menteri Besar Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo has joined Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).

Melaka Bersatu chief Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik announced the move in a Facebook post about a recent luncheon with Khir and other party leaders.

Rahim said Khir intends to “share and exchange ideas with senior Bersatu leaders to further strengthen the effectiveness of the Bersatu election machinery in the upcoming state elections and general elections”.

Details of Khir’s membership are currently unknown. He was last known to be a member of , where he served as the Sungai Besar division chief and former Sungai Panjang state assemblyman.

The New Straits Times has reached out to Bersatu leaders for comment.
