KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 2 — Police have confirmed that a Form Three student who fell from the third floor of a school dormitory in Sabak Bernam was discharged from the hospital on September 20.

police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said the student is now at his family home in Sabak Bernam and is in the process of recovery, Berita Harian reported today.

“He can walk and speak, though not fluently, and his diet is still irregular. Alhamdulillah, his health is improving,” he said during a press conference at the Police Contingent Headquarters today.

Shazeli added that police have yet to record a full statement from the student.

“We haven’t obtained complete testimony yet, but we have spoken with him as his mental state is not fully recovered due to his head injuries. We are using an initial interview approach to avoid putting pressure on him,” he said.

He also confirmed that the police investigation papers have been submitted to the Deputy Public Prosecutor’s (DPP) office.

“We are awaiting feedback from the DPP. We ask the media and the public to be patient for the outcome,” he said.

On August 26, it was reported that the Form Three student was in critical condition after allegedly being a victim of bullying in the dormitory.

A CT scan revealed that the student suffered brain bleeding, a fractured jaw, and lung injuries.

Following the incident, the family filed a police report at the Sabak Bernam Police Station around 5am that same day.
