KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 15 — Several parts of a district in Hulu Langat, particularly around Taman Sri Nanding, Dusun Tua and Kampung Sungai Serai, were struck by flash floods early this morning following heavy rain in the area.

Social media posts by residents showed floodwaters rising from around 6am, although water levels in some areas have since begun to recede, according to BuletinTV3.

Several vehicles were reported damaged after attempting to drive through floodwaters near Kampung Sungai Serai.

According to the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (JPS) website, water levels at the Batu 12 station have reached the danger mark.

Meanwhile, stations at Kampung Pasir, Batu 15 and Pekan Bangi Lama along the Langat River are at alert level, while other areas remain normal.

Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) assistant director of operations Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said no emergency reports have been received so far.

“So far, there have been no calls, but we have already deployed teams to monitor the affected areas,” he said when contacted.
