KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 15 — Five people are feared to have been buried in a landslide at Kampung Cenderakasih in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, early this morning, believed to have been triggered by continuous heavy rain since last night.
A Sabah Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said they received an initial report from the public, adding that two victims had earlier been rescued by villagers, according to a report by Bernama.
“Firefighters have arrived at the scene and are carrying out search and rescue operations. At this time, details of those involved are not yet available and updates will follow,” the spokesperson said.
The public has been urged to stay away from the site as the area remains dangerous, while residents have been advised to take precautionary measures.
