PETALING JAYA:

Defending champions Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani have crashed out of the Open in the opening round.

The world No 2 were eliminated by the 40th ranked South Korean pair Kang Min Hyuk-Ki Dong Ju.

The Malaysian duo, who were losing finalists at the Japan Open last week, lost  21-15, 15- 17-21- in the 56-minute match played at the Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium in Changzhou.

This is the first encounter between the two pairs.

In the Japan Open final on Sunday, Sze Fei-Izzuddin failed to defend their title after losing to another South Korean pair Kim Won Ho-Seo Seung Jae in the final.
