KUALA LUMPUR: An oil waste processing and management plant in Kampung Olak Lempit, Banting, caught fire last night.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations control centre said firefighting efforts were ongoing.
The department received information on the fire at 10.03pm before deploying six fire engines with a strength of 37 officers and personnel to the scene, it said.
“As of 10.55pm last night, the fire had yet to be brought under control, with the estimated extent of the blaze at 80 per cent,” it said in a statement.
It said the fire involved an oil processing plant, classified as a Class B building.
Firefighting efforts are being carried out by personnel from the Banting Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), KLIA BBP, Dengkil BBP and Cyberjaya BBP, assisted by fire rescue tenders (FRT), water tankers and two ambulances.
