PETALING JAYA: The Finance Ministry and MyKasih Foundation have apologised for a system glitch on the first day of disbursement of the one-off RM100 under the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (Sara) Appreciation Programme.
In a joint statement, the Finance Ministry and MyKasih attributed the glitch to an extremely high volume of transactions, which caused processing delays.
“The Finance Ministry and MyKasih would like to apologise for any inconvenience experienced by recipients of the Sara today,” they said in a joint statement on Sunday (Aug 31).
Due to an exceptionally high volume of transactions on the first day of disbursement, the MyKasih terminal system has experienced delays in processing transactions as a result of a sudden surge in purchasing activity.
“Please be informed that purchases can still be made, but some retail outlets may face difficulties or delays in processing transactions due to the heavy system load,” they said.
The statement said that the MyKasih technical team is currently working diligently to resolve the issue and is expecting the system to resume normal operations soon.
“We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused and appreciate the patience and understanding of all parties,” they said.
Glitches have been reported at several outlets where some shoppers who were unable to redeem their RM100 had to pay out of their pockets for the purchased items.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced the one-off RM100 appreciation aid under the Sara programme for Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above, including existing Sara recipients. This will benefit some 22 million Malaysians.
