Kuantan farmer injured after stabbing by acquaintance over alleged police report about substance use, suspect remanded for investigation
KUANTAN: A farmer sustained abdominal injuries after being stabbed by an acquaintance in Kampung Sri Damai along Jalan Gambang.
Kuantan police chief ACP Ashari Abu Samah confirmed the incident occurred around 7 pm last Friday when the 38-year-old victim met the 25-year-old suspect outside his home.
The confrontation began when the suspect requested the victim accompany him to meet a friend.
The suspect then produced a five-inch knife from his trousers and stabbed the victim in the abdomen after his refusal.
This attack resulted in a tear in the victim’s abdomen requiring treatment at Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital.
Police subsequently arrested the unemployed suspect following the stabbing incident.
Investigations suggest the motive involved the suspect’s anger over the victim allegedly reporting his drug use to authorities.
The suspect has been remanded for four days until Tuesday to assist investigations under Section 324 of the Penal Code. – Bernama
