KUALA LUMPUR: Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil has expressed his condolences to the family and friends of former Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) journalist Sabaruddin Ahmad Sabri, 60, who passed away early this morning.
Sabaruddin, who was also a Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) presenter, made a lasting impact on the media and broadcasting community.
Fahmi said his passing will be deeply felt, particularly among journalists and media practitioners.
“May his soul be blessed and placed among the righteous. Al-Fatihah,” he wrote in a Facebook post today.
Sabaruddin’s wife, Suzrina Shamsuddin, 55, told Bernama that he died at 5.28 am at Sungai Buloh Hospital due to a lung infection.
His remains are expected to be taken to Masjid Jamek FRIM for prayers after Zuhur, before being laid to rest at Bukit Lagong Muslim Cemetery in Taman Ehsan, Kepong, Selangor.
Sabaruddin leaves behind his wife and five children.
