
PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari topped the list in the PAS central working committee today, getting the most votes in the party polls at 1,096.
Kedah menteri besar Sanusi Nor received the second-highest number of votes with 1,062, while newcomer and Jitra assemblyman Haim Hilman Abdullah received 1,028 votes.
Arau MP Shahidan Kassim, who ran in the polls for the first time, managed to get in the committee finishing in 14th place.
Nik Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz, who was defeated in 2021, also rejoined the committee.
Meanwhile, Perlis menteri besar Shukri Ramli failed to make the cut for the 18 positions available. There were a total of 30 candidates vying for the posts.
The results were announced by PAS central election committee chairman Wan Rohimi Wan Daud.
He said 1,351 delegates were eligible to vote in the election this round, with 1,220 or 90.03% of them casting their ballots.
PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man retained the top two posts uncontested.
Similarly, Idris Ahmad, Samsuri Mokhtar and Amar Nik Abdullah also retained their vice-president posts uncontested after Sanusi withdrew from the race.
