PUTRAJAYA: Former Special Branch director Datuk Ts Ahmad Ramdzan Daud has been appointed president and chief executive officer of the Malaysian Institute of Integrity (IIM), effective July 23.
IIM said in a statement today that the appointment was made with the consent of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Before this, Ahmad Ramdzan served as the Special Branch director in the police force. His policing career began in April 1987 as a probationary inspector at the Police Training Centre (Pulapol) in Kuala Lumpur.
Throughout his 37 years in the force, he held various key roles, including Assistant Director at the Economic Extremist Threats Division (Special Branch), Security Liaison Officer in Washington DC, Head of Johor Special Branch, Senior Assistant Director of the Special Branch Secretariat and Research Division, and Deputy Director of Special Branch in 2022.
He is also recognised internationally, serving as the president of the FBI National Academy Associates (FBINAA) Asia Pacific Chapter (7th Division Malaysia).
Ahmad Ramdzan holds a Master of Science (Information Management) from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam, which he obtained in 2008.
His appointment replaces Rahman Mohd Din, who was recently appointed Deputy Secretary-General (Policy and Monitoring) at the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry on July 21.
IIM expressed its appreciation for Rahman’s contributions during his tenure and extended a warm welcome to Ahmad Ramdzan as he takes the helm of the integrity institution.
