KUALA LUMPUR: EVD Bhd has appointed former Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) vice-president Norhizam Abdul Kadir as its new managing director, effective Sept 2.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said Norhizam, 51, brings with him more than 25 years of experience in the technology industry across Asia Pacific.
He previously held managerial roles at Intel, Microsoft, Ballard Power, Green Packet Bhd and KiplePay, covering areas such as sales and marketing, business development, strategy, planning and communications.
At MDEC, Norhizam was involved in policy development and efforts to grow the country’s digital economy.
He had been on the board of MiMOS Bhd and currently serves as a board member of MYISCO (myAngkasa Digital Services) and an investment committee member for Amanah Saham Nasional’s robo-advisory product.
Norhizam holds a master’s degree in corporate communications from Universiti Putra Malaysia and a degree in communications from Purdue University, Indiana, United States. He does not hold directorships in other public companies.
