BERA: A 65-year-old man was killed after he was crushed by a fallen tree branch while riding his motorcycle at KM34 of Jalan Kuala Bera–Chenor, near Kampung Batu Papan, yesterday.

The victim, identified as Kamar Seman, suffered severe head injuries and died at the scene in the 6.50pm incident.

District police chief Superintendent Zulkiflee Nazir said the victim was travelling from Kampung Batu Papan Tengah to his home in Kampung Batu Papan when the incident occurred.

“Initial investigations showed that as the victim reached the location, a tree branch by the roadside suddenly broke and fell on him.

“Members of the public quickly acted to remove the branch that had fallen on the victim,” he said in a statement.

The victim’s body was sent to Bera Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
