KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 2 — The Ministry of Education (MoE) has pledged its full cooperation with the authorities in the investigation into the death of a schoolboy in Senawang, Negeri Sembilan, yesterday.

In a Facebook post today, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said the ministry is committed to ensuring that the investigation proceeds smoothly, while advising the public not to speculate about the incident.

“This matter is currently under police investigation. I assure you that the MoE is committed to providing full cooperation with the ongoing investigation.

“The public is also advised not to speculate and to respect the privacy of the pupil’s family at this time,” she said in the post.

She also extended her condolences to the pupil’s family and said the ministry had activated psychosocial support interventions in this crisis to safeguard the wellbeing of pupils, teachers and the entire school community.

Earlier, it was reported that police had classified the death of the 10-year-old boy as related to bullying under Section 507C of the Penal Code.

Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said the victim was found unconscious in a school toilet before being taken to a private clinic.
