Econpile wins RM54mil Penang LRT job from Gamuda unit


KUALA LUMPUR: Econpile Holdings Bhd has bagged a contract worth RM53.99 million from Gamuda Geo Sdn Bhd for bored piling construction for Penang light rail transit (LRT) project.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the developer said Its unit Econpile (M) Sdn Bhd received the job under the sub-package BP07, covering bored piling and associated works along the Komtar to East Jelutong stretch of the Mutiara Line under Package CMC1.

The project is scheduled to commence on Oct 1, 2025 with practical completion targeted by April 30, 2027.

Econpile said the contract is expected to contribute positively to its revenue and earnings from the financial year ending June 30, 2026 onwards.

The company added that no significant risks are expected beyond normal operational risks, which will be managed through established controls and procedures.
