PETALING JAYA: Drones with infrared cameras have been deployed by the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department in its operations to battle a fire at a dumping site behind a factory in Kampung Sri Sentosa, Bestari Jaya.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the area is about 1.6ha in size.
“Some 50% of the area is burnt. Efforts to put out the fire are still ongoing.
“There are various hot spots in the area and we have deployed drones to assist us in identifying the hotspots beneath the surface,” he said when contacted on Wednesday (July 30).
He added that other machinery, such as excavators, was also used to put out the fire.
